Let’s paint a picture of how Chris Davis got into VWs. At the age of 9, he started sweeping shop floors at The Buggy House, a prominent Bay Area VW parts store, machine shop, and service facility, founded in 1967. That’s a pretty young age to begin working, but when your dad, uncle, and grandfather own the shop, it’s a foregone conclusion they’ll find something for you to do. In time, Chris moved up to sales and then engine building. Being around Volkswagens daily inspired him to want a VW as his first car, but the question remained: Which one?
