HEART FELT

It’s easy to take life and our health for granted until such a point when we are no longer in good health, or we have a family member with a serious health problem. Likewise, many take it for granted when they are expecting a child that their offspring will be born fit and healthy.

I know only too well what it’s like to have a child born with complex needs and how difficult this can be, not only for the child but also for the parents and all of the surrounding family. There’s often a need to spend long spells in hospital, which can have a huge impact on families; coping mentally is really tough, especially as, whilst our NHS is wonderful in many ways in caring for patients,
