Fog, Guano, and a Cape Gannet Cacophony
Last autumn, I took a short trip to Lambertʼs Bay, a small fishing town on the West Coast two hours from Cape Town. Itʼs home to the largest Cape gannet colony in the world, on Bird Island.
The island itself is accessible by foot from the harbour, at the cost of a day-pass through Cape Nature, which monitors the birds.
