York Minster’s Great East Window

In 1697 Celia Fiennes, a visitor to York Minster, felt moved to comment on “the greatest curiosity for windows I ever saw.” And she certainly had a point. The jewel-in-the-crown of this magnificent, world-famous centre of Christianity, York Minster is renowned for both the size, and the splendour, of its medieval stained-glass collection.
