With 144 appearances for her country, an MBE for her services to the beautiful game and a place in the National Football Museum Hall of Fame, former England and Chelsea midfielder Karen Carney is a football legend.

She retired in 2019, but has continued her advancement of the women’s game through her punditry on BT Sport, Sky Sports and, as of next season, ITV Sport.

With the Uefa European Women’s Football Championship kicking off at Manchester United’s Old Trafford ground this week, HELLO! caught up with Karen, 34, to find out about her life now, her advice for England’s Lionesses and her hopes for women’s football…
