Juul told to quit: Electronic cigarettes maker Juul has successfully delayed a government ban that would have forced its vaping products off the US market with immediate effect, says Associated Press. The regulator, The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), has sought to bring greater scientific scrutiny to the multibillion-dollar vaping industry following years of regulatory delays. Juul in particular, one of the leading brands in the US, had been accused of targeting teenagers through its mix of advertising featuring younger models and fruity flavours, despite a recent survey reporting a drop in the teenage vaping rate and a shift away from Juul’s products.

Juul has slipped from Altria’s crown, says Andrea Felsted on Bloomberg. The Virginia-based tobacco giant behind Marlboro holds a 35% stake in Juul, as part of its drive to diversify its brands portfolio away
