Wetlands rescue

ward-winning Australian bird photographer Georgina Steytler has used part of the, to secure a deposit for the purchase of the Eungedup Wetlands, a 103ha site between Denmark and Albany on the south coast of Western Australia. The site was previously drained and used for potato growing but is now a hotspot for the endangered Australasian bittern and other migratory waders. Working with Wetlands for Wildlife, Georgina is trying to raise funds to cover the cost for the full purchase price of $500,000 needed by December. For info and to donate:
