Oliver 500
Q I have a 1962 David Brown 850 diesel tractor converted to an Oliver 500. I have had the injector pump recalibrated (a DPA), plus, all injectors reset and cleaned professionally.
My problem is bad starting. The engine whines and whines before firing, giving out loads of smoke. A cold start has been fitted to retard the pump, but makes no difference. Even when the tractor is running it still discharges lots of smoke. Any advice on the problem would be useful.
