Apple AirPort – ready to take off again?

Back in 2018, Apple discontinued its AirPort line of products – a range of wireless cards and routers that it originally launched back in 1999. In recent years, an array of products from third parties such as Linksys, Netgear and Eero have been available to buy in Apple Stores. But that hasn’t stopped people wondering whether the company should bring back its own offering.

Making a comeback?

Speculation about a possible AirPort relaunch increased in May 2022. A filing with US regulator the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from Apple for a ‘Network Adapter’ was made public.
