Nature’s quiet nurture

VARYING artists’ illustrations for Frances Hodgson Burnett’s much-loved (1911) from the past 100 years will be explored); meanwhile, artist Juliette Losq has created an immersive artwork, offering a contemporary interpretation of as an urban landscape. The show will explore how the author’s own gardens at Great Maytham Hall, Kent, inspired her, too. The show (July 6–September 4), is the third in a series on plants in children’s literature at the museum —after one on Ladybird books in 2019 and another on Flower Fairies in 2018—and will feature games, trails, workshops and talks; entry for children is free ().
