RootsIreland adds County Monaghan poor-list records

RootsIreland has added 12,846 poor-list records to its). They cover 1803–1864 and consist of seven different sets recording individuals who received charity, including during the Great Famine. They can be used as a substitute for census records, which haven’t survived in Ireland from the 19th century (see page 17). RootsIreland is the website of the Irish Family History Foundation, and holds more than 22 million Irish records.
