AWIDE, green valley panorama lit by a lowish sun took our breath away and made me pull over into a shallow layby and start taking photographs.
We were only a couple of minutes from arrival, according to the satnav, but this was too good to miss. A narrow river wound its way through sweeping grazing and past woods that were just beginning to acknowledge early spring with that fuzzy aura of budding leaves.
