Berry Nice

I am a berry picker, raised by a berry picker. Every summer of my life I have spent making and consuming hand-picked berry upside-down cakes, jam, conserve and pies. As kids, when our extended family went picking, we were required to fill a cup of berries before we could play. My cousin and I would load up our cup with leaves and grass, then layer the berries atop for inspection. We never got away with it.
