It has been very interesting reading the Tom Attwood’s excellent NTET data sheet he has just collated on various coal supplies, their usage and the various substitutes for historic coal that are being offered, particularly ovoids, which are basically crushed anthracite fines. I believe the ovoids are 75x60x45mm in size and are made up of 17 per cent volatiles with less than two per cent sulphur and can produce 32,500kJ/kg with approximately six per cent ash.
