AND Rovers leak. Everyone knows that. Water leaks in from above, and oil leaks out from below. Some of this is down to age and poor maintenance, but a vehicle body assembled from a large number of panels bolted together will always be harder to waterproof than a unitary construction welded shell. Back in the Series II days when the vehicle interior was mostly painted metal, a bit of water on the floor didn’t matter too much. But on newer vehicles with a fully carpeted interior, water leaks can do a huge amount of damage.
