Lovely lavender

LAVENDERS are small evergreen shrubs, and the leaves are usually silvered. Although they love the sun they will also thrive with no direct sun at all, as long as the shade is from the side and the plants are open to the sky.

Lavenders are also drought resistant, which is such a valuable asset these days when drought can strike at any time of year, so they are invaluable in drought gardens. Sadly, they are not long lived, and usually need replacing after 10-15 years.
