CLAMPING FOOD

Russia invaded Ukraine, supply lines became a media catchphrase, blame got attached to the usual suspects. As usual, I contemplated these developments in energy terms and ran a mental eye over what we could do hereabouts to become more resilient.

We can’t do anything about the global jousting for fossil energy and resources — indeed about global just about anything — but we can insure ourselves as best we can. I came up with three things — I didn’t dare ask her; there would be many more and they mostly wouldn’t be the same! I could make my old dumpster bike mobile again, I could re-wheel the bath cart, and I could build a dedicated store for the food we’ve grown.
