Where Kirkwall, Orkney
Interior designer Jay Jennings
Two years ago, a book entitled Accidentally Wes Anderson was published. The offshoot of an online community of the same name, it documented locations around the world that, by coincidence rather than design, resembled candy-hued sets from the iconic film director’s whimsical cinematic universe.
Pay a visit to Kirkwall in Orkney and you’ll discover an entire Victorian townhouse that could have been art directed by Anderson himself. The Pastel House, which you may recognise from the BBC TV show , pays homage to a visual language that: Margot, Eli, Ethel and Royal.
