THE TAYLOR FAMILY had many idyllic Easter breaks in Blackbutt, Queensland, for over a decade before they discovered their own country escape in the South Burnett region. Cameron and Riza Taylor and their children – Sam, 18, 16-year-old Myla and Avy, 12 – would travel 165 kilometres from Brisbane to spend autumn days with Riza’s sister’s family at their rural home. They enjoyed leisurely days swimming in the dam, exploring the rail trail and building forts in the creek.
