s nonfiction food shows continue to flourish, it’s a mystery why we so rarely see the restaurant world depicted on narrative to Starz’s soapy adaptation of Stephanie Danler’s semiautobiographical novel they tend to fall flat. FX dramedy set in a Chicago sandwich joint, has more going for it than those predecessors. But in its first season, the show comes out of the kitchen slightly undercooked.
