SHANE BREEN and his promising stallion Vistogrand took a break from Global Champions Tour duties to jump one day of this show, cruising to victory in the 1.55m international stairway.

“The goal has been building him up towards the King George and this is a brilliant atmosphere for horses who are stepping up,¬タン said Shane, who rode the fastest of two double clears to beat Sian Edwards and Elessar.

“He’s been jumping great – he jumped well in the Global at Hamburg and was clear the first day jumping for the Gladiators in Rome. The plan was to bring him to South of England, then a class at Hickstead [Derby meeting], Valkenswaard and then the Royal International.

“Hopefully after that we’ll be in a position to put ourselves forward for the Europeans next year.”

Shane bought the Fantaland x Mr Visto
