When he embarked upon his latest project, Baz Luhrmann didn’t set out to make a movie to make audiences fall in love with Elvis (although, you probably will). In fact, after listening to him talk about his film , you begin to wonder if Luhrmann sweats too much about whether audiences will even love the actual movie (although again, you probably will). What seems to be the driving force at the heart of the “love him or hate him” Aussie director is facilitating the human connection that comes from the simple act of going to the movies.
