While pulling this week’s issue together, the team and I star Julie Goodwin’s determination to return to TV (p16), Jimmy Barnes staring grief in the face and choosing to play on (p35) and, on page 27, Jelena Dokic’s soul-shattering but fearless confession about her mental health, we were all taken aback by their openness and willingness to overcome. There is certainly no shame in not being OK and much like these Aussie greats we should remind ourselves constantly to check in with each other when needed. On page 28, singer Dakota Striplin reveals he could be related to Elvis – who else is excited to see the new film? – make of it what you will, but he has me convinced!
