Mitsubishi Pajero

The mighty Pajero turns 40 this year.

To the dismay of many, the original ‘big’ Pajero doesn’t get to see that milestone. In 2021, Mitsubishi confirmed the ‘full size’ Pajero would cease, leaving the visually similar but smaller Pajero Sport to carry the name forward. The announcement was made in Japan at a board meeting which also celebrated the Mitsubishi Pajero’s dominance of the Paris-Dakar Rally from 1985 to 2007 – during which time it clocked up a record 12 wins including seven in a row from 2001 to 2007.
