How To Play “Superstition”
There is no more famous clavinet-based song than Stevie Wonder's mega-hit “Superstition”, from his 1972 album Talking Book. Originally written to give to guitarist Jeff Beck as a “thank you” for playing on Stevie's previous album (Music Of My Mind, 1972), Wonder was so pleased he decided to record it for himself. Then in an interesting move, Motown released his record before Beck's came out. Stevie plays drums, Moog bass, and clavinet on the recording, with horns overdubbed.
