Imagine walking outside to cut the lawn and glancing over I to your neighbour’s drive to see them buffing their muchcherished MGB; a car you didn’t even know existed. This was the case with this ’79 model MGB GT after its original owner, John Longhurst, pulled it out of the garage where it had been hidden from view for over two decades.

Production of the ‘1979 model’ had commenced in May ’78 and this GT had been built 12-13 October 1978. It had been dispatched ten days later to a London dealer and found its first owner a few months later, registered 19th January 1979 to John.

Apparently, when John got it out of the garage, the next-door neighbour commented he didn’t know he even owned it. John said he was looking to sell it, as he couldn’t get in it anymore, so the neighbour bought it and kept it
