Tim Mundy has worked on Minis since the age of 13. In the 1990s he worked for Oselli Engineering and has been writing for MiniWorld for 25 years. He has owned more than 20 Minis and built two from scratch.

Changing discs

I have a 1988 Mini with 8.4” front disc brakes. I would like to convert to 7.5” disc brakes and fit 10” wheels for a more retro look and to improve the handling. What is the easiest way to do this and should I have the discs machined down or fit 7.5” discs and drive flanges?
