The Fijn Botanicals team, Liana Jansen and husband Petrus, needed environmentally friendly products because of the grey-water system they used on their guest farm Kogman & Keisie near Montagu. This led to an innovative range made using mostly plant-based ingredients and fynbos essential oils that evoke fragrances of veld, clay and herbs. The Sensitive Scrub Dust contains rice, black seed and grape seed powder; and the Alabaster Botanical Serum contains Kalahari melon seed, argan, kooigoed and kapokbos essential oils, among others. ‘I try to capture not only a fragrance but also a landscape in my products,’ Liana says.
