 Easy on the eye and simple to make, thanks to shop-bought ingredients and no fiddly techniques. These recipes can be made ahead or require 30 minutes or less of prep – they’re go-to ideas for entertaining special guests.

Make up a very large ice bucketand nestle them into the ice bucket. Add 400ml of , or (decanted into bottles if it comes in cartons) into the ice to keep chilled. Arrange 6 ripe, sliced and a bunch of on a chilled plate or a board. If it’s very hot, add some ice cubes to slowly melt over them. Arrange the bucket near your glasses and add long-handled spoons for stirring, and napkins for mopping up drips, and ask your guests to mix their own. Serve alongside nibbles such as , , , and .
