MAKE FUN, NOT WAR
As a kid I loved nothing more than a game of cowboys and Indians, or soldiers, or doctors and nurses. We won't go into the last one, but the common theme was usually guns.
Thankfully, as I grew up I managed to stay on the right side of the law as my interest in firearms evolved to the point where I could own a few of them. But that childish enthusiasm never left me. And I suspect I am not alone.
Most of my time with an air rifle is spent in the field. But occasionally I get the chance to reconnect with my inner little boy and let rip at a few tin cans. And in my opinion nothing does the job better than a CO2-powered BB gun.
But don't for a second dismiss such hardware as toys. They deserve as much respect as any other airgun, and some of them are beautifully made. Take the BB guns we have lined up for this month's group test; each pays homage to an iconic gun from the Second World War era, with one more modern interloper thrown in for good measure.
