As a mega-successful recording artist, Keith Urban has released 12 studio albums and won four Grammys during his genre-bending career.

In addition to his coaching roles onand , he’s a father and married to A-lister Nicole Kidman. Still, the 54-year-old insists outsiders who think his life is a cakewalk are off the mark. “They know me now as being married to Nic. They’ve seen me on TV and they just sort of think, ‘He’s the luckiest guy in the world,’” he told . “There’s just so much s--t underneath you didn’t see... I didn’t just walk into this gig.” Born in New Zealand, he developed a love of country music growing up in rural Queensland, and by age seven, was already competing in local talent shows. After leaving school, he signed a record deal and released his homegrown, self-titled debut album in 1991. He moved to Nashville a year later, where he began battling drug and alcohol addiction, entering rehab for the first time in 1998.
