AN open day on May 7, at Inchicore Works, Irish Rail’s main servicing and repair facility, was fully booked and attracted over 6000 visitors. Postponed from last year because of the pandemic, the free event celebrated the 175th anniversary of the opening of the works by the Great Southern and Western Railway in 1846.
