TWO types of wooden-bodied South Eastern & Chatham Railway (SECR) and Southern Railway (SR) open wagons are added to the Rapido Trains range of ‘OO’ gauge rolling stock and they both enjoy the same level of detailing as the Gunpowder van reviewed in the last issue (REM218). Small wooden–planked open wagons were important to the pre-group and ‘Big Four’ companies in the same way as high capacity bogie box wagons are to modern Railfreight operations today, and were built in considerable number.
