Normally I ignore the stickers that litter new laptops. They’re part of the furniture, barely noticeable against the uniform grey of a typical chassis. But the first thing I did on lifting the Zenbook 14X OLED Space Edition from its magnificently engineered box – even the container for the power supply folds back on itself to act as a desk stand – is remove every last one of them.

Successfully denuded, you can revel in the glory of Asus’s design touches, all dedicated to the “25” years since an Asus laptop went up to space. I put 25 in quotes because that’s the figure Asus shouts about, despite the fact that the Asus P6300 journeyed to the Mir space station in 1998 rather than 1997. Still, let’s not quibble about
