Floorstanding speakers are the proper termination to a proper hi-fi system. Forget your soundbars, your all-in-one systems: stereo floorstanding speakers deliver the full range of frequencies, with widely spread stereo for placing instruments within a soundstage, and with sufficent power to completely fill a room with sound, exciting the air from front baffle to the listener and beyond.

Better than standmounting speakers? It’s true we’re fans of good standmounters: their smaller cabinets can allow them a tighter sound and a particular ability to weave beautiful soundstage images. But there’s no substitute for a full-sized cabinet when it comes to sheer air-shifting abilities, and bass in particular.
