BROOME AND BEYOND

​It had been over 20 years since my last visit to Broome but it still had that same vibe when we arrived on a hot breezy day in late July.

Broome is a town of 16,000 permanent residents that is enriched with Australian history and has a substantially under-rated fishing scene. What I find really cool about this area is that it has something for everyone, whether you’re into light tackle estuary, casting lures for jacks and barra, or heading into the deep blue for a myriad of line stripping speed demons, it really does cover all bases.

Broome itself has become a hugely popular destination for Aussie holiday makers since international travel hasn’t been on the cards. I can see why; it’s so unique and remote feeling it’s probably the closest thing to a culture shock that you can get without leaving Australia.
