THE PLATINUM PARTY AT THE PALACE

The big-ticket event of day three was the star-studded two-and-a-half-hour concert.

More than 22 000 people and many members of the royal family, gathered to watch the event, which featured some of the biggest names in world entertainment, including Diana Ross, Rod Stewart, Duran Duran, Andrea Bocelli and Cliff Richard.

Flamboyant performer Adam Lambert kicked off the night with a medley of Queen songs, as Brian May, one of the original members of the iconic band, played guitar.
