For most of us, Big Adventure is something other people do. Other people leave their homes and walk into the wilderness to pit themselves against the natural environment. Other people (mostly men, often bearded), forge across frozen tundra carrying two weeks’ worth of food on their backs. Other people run thousands of kilometres across the desert, sail the ocean alone except for the sharks. Other people scale rock faces in conditions that would leave the rest of us weeping frozen tears.
