Canoe sailing in the Bristol Channel

ne sunny day in the summer of 2020, between various Covid lockdowns, our canoe sailing group set off from Lydney Yacht Club down channel. Now, generally speaking on these occasions, whatever the plan is gets heavily modified due to the unpredictability of conditions or equipment failure. And indeed, this was no exception, as Phil had forgotten to bring the lee board for his canoe, rather essential particularly for upwind sailing. However, we put the canoes together at Lydney and with our concerns evaporating in the summer breeze we set off.
