The Tucson made its debut in 2005. Our first test was that of the 2,7-litre V6. Naturally, most waited for the more economical (and sensible) diesel given that not many locals needed the extra power (129 kW) coupled with fuel consumption of over 11 litres/100 km. A year later, it was the turn of the 2,0-litre diesel. This had a somewhat lower output of just 88 kW, but compensated by using less than 9 litres/100
