When she planned the 1¾-acre landscape around her new home, Linda made a prairie garden a major feature. And as the project got underway, she discovered that she loves to garden. So over the last 25 years she has added a large shade border, a rock garden, vegetable beds and even the pond, waterfall and meandering stream in photo 1. But Linda’s first love was the 1-acre prairie planting that wraps around the back and sides of the house. See how they all interact with one another in “Garden at a Glance,” at right.
