Opening my mouth wide, I stuck my tongue out as the doctor shone her light down my throat.
‘Ahhhh, ’ I croaked.
At 7 years old, I had laryngitis and was seeing our family GP.
‘You can take my place when you grow up, ’ the doctor smiled as she checked my tonsils.
My eyes lit up.
In that moment, the seed was planted.
I wanted to be a doctor!
