Some of my first tweets about my debut Everything is Fine read along the lines of: ‘I’m so excited to see my little book on the shelves. Or ‘I hope you enjoy my little book.’

I mean, what did I think I’d written? One of those teeny-tiny gift books full of inspirational quotes? A dolls’ house size version of a well-known classic?

Was my book barely distinguishable against others on the shelf
