World Loses Yet Another Broadcaster as Voice of Greece Shuts Down

~ More sad news … Rich D’Angelo reports that the Voice of Greece closed down at the end of March. So, no more of that nice Greek music from Avlis on 9420 kHz.

~ Radio Romania International is now carrying at least three Romanian medium wave broadcasts on the Ukrainian situation. Most run at various times for half an hour to an hour. I won’t attempt to keep track of them here as the situation continues to be exceptionally fluid, but currently they include radios Sigit, Lasi, Constanta, as well as Chisinau at various days/hours throughout the week.

~ In Ukraine itself, fluidity and frustration continue and attempts to keep up with things are nothing but useless, especially having to prepare the column two months ahead of time.

Listener Logs

Your shortwave broadcast station logs are always welcome. But please ensure to double or triple space between the items, list each logging according to the station’s home country and include your last name and state abbreviation after each. Also needed are spare QSLs, station schedules, brochures, pennants, station photos and anything else you think would be of interest. The same holds for those amateur radio operators who also listen to shortwave broadcasts … I know you’re out there! You, too, are also most welcome to contribute!

Here are this month’s logs. All times are in UTC. If no language is mentioned English is assumed.

ALASKA—KNLS on 9570 via Anchor Point in Russian with Christian music at 1149. (Taylor, WI)

ALGERIA—Radio Algerienne on 6060 via France, with
