All Edgings: Weave in loose ends as work progresses.
Sweet only: Adjust width by increasing or decreasing beginning chains in multiples of 3, which will add or subtract 1 V-stitch.
When instructed to work in V-stitch, work in chain-1 space of stitch.
Heartland Lace only: Do not work chain at end of each row unless otherwise stated. Elongate last loop on hook before making first stitch of next row.
Split single crochet stitches are worked on both sides between legs of indicated stitches for better stitch alignment and a crisp and distinct appearance.
When working in chains, insert hook between top loops and back bar of indicated chain, opening this space with tapestry needle as needed. Do not work in chain
