Where have all the service stations gone? For you younger readers, there was a time in America when there was such a thing as a . There, they pumped your gas while you sat in the car; they also checked your oil, washed your windows, repaired your vehicle, and actually smiled while doing it, regardless of the weather. Hard to believe, isn’t it? Station or 102-octane gas was 26 cents per gallon. My original ’65 GTO loved that gas and literally squealed the tires in glee with every fill up.
