It’s never advisable to approach your wedding day with a whacking great secret you’re keeping from your life partner to be. Having said that, there are secrets and there are secrets. And if the one in question is a Beetle you’ve restored behind your prospective wife’s back as a wedding present, we’re all for it!

That, in a nutshell, is the rather wonderful story behind this ’67, which was restored at Creative Coachworks in perfect time for the wedding of Phil and Joy Sutton. Phil is one of the main players at the Shropshire-based restoration business, along with his dear old dad, Alan, and so Joy regularly pays the workshops a visit.
