Despite what some may say, .308 Winchester is still a viable cartridge for hunting, target shooting, and self-defense. Ammo is [somewhat] available and gives the shooter a vast array of bullets and loads to tailor for specific activities. With this in mind, building up a lightweight-ish battle rifle-type AR Carbine became a project.
