Last April, my wife, Sue, suggested we should buy a tracker for our motorhome. My reply that there was no need as who would steal a motorhome that is 13 years old and has done over 165,000 miles would come back to haunt me.
On 26 October at 2.16am, our motorhome was stolen from the drive of our house. We never saw it again.
We had bought our motorhome, a Chausson Flash 02, when we retired in 2008. It was our third âvan. We named her Nicolle. Over the next 13 years we drove her all across Europe, north Africa and down through Syria and Jordan. We took longer journeys to southern Africa, Australia and two trips to North America. So many adventures and so many memories.
We were unbelievably distressed over the theft of our treasured Nicolle. To begin with, we thought that would be the end of our travelling. Considering her age and mileage, we were not expecting a very generous settlement from the insurance company and, knowing the cost of both new
