    The Sea Anglers Match Federation (SAMF) was formed in 1980, with several well-known match anglers at the forefront: Alan Yates, Ian Golds, Chris Clark to name but a few. The principal officers running the organisation for a great many years were John Amery (Chair), Andy Steel (Secretary) and Mary Steel (Treasurer). In recent years Mike Watts, Tony Thomas and I have taken the lead roles, although Andy is still in the background providing guidance and support where needed.
